Royal Oak Concert Band

About Us

Organized in the fall of 1963, The Royal Oak Concert Band is an adult community concert band. The ROCB was founded by Mr. Russell Peters, who was the Coordinator of Instrumental Music for the Royal Oak Schools. Now in its’ 60th year, the ROCB is directed by Mr. Kevin Czarnik. The ensemble has a membership of 80 members and performs a minimum of 6 concerts annually. In addition to the Concert Band, the ROCB also has a 20-piece jazz ensemble, The Woodward Avenue Jazz Orchestra, directed by Mr. Jim Cann. The ROCB and WAJO enjoy performing for the Royal Oak Community each season, with our indoor concert series, and at outdoor concerts in parks and at special events. The Royal Oak Concert Band is a diverse, all volunteer ensemble whose mission is to provide high quality and musical experiences for all its members, while entertaining and educating the audience.
