About Us

St. Mary Catholic School is a nurturing, joy-filled preschool through eighth grade elementary school located in the heart of downtown Royal Oak. St. Mary Parish is the oldest Catholic community in southeast Oakland County, established as a mission in 1842 and becoming a parish in 1909. The original St. Mary Academy dates back to 1916.

St. Mary Catholic School is known for exceptional academics, Christ-focused environment, and welcoming and nurturing community. Our eighth grade graduates experience great success at Catholic and public high schools throughout the metro Detroit area. Our early childhood program offers both full day and part day programs to meet the different needs of families. We enthusiastically work towards our mission of providing a quality education for all children in which they will come to know, love, and serve God.
